Who am I?
My name is Ashley Phillips and this is my 22nd year in education. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville before coming back to Taylorsville so that I could help the kids of my hometown to learn & grow. Although I loved being in the classroom, I had a desire to help students in a different way...as a counselor! I obtained my Master of Arts in School Guidance Counseling from Spalding University to help me achieve my next dream. This is my eleventh year being blessed to serve students in this role.
As a wife to Michael and a mom to Chase, Gavin, & Brody, I stay busy outside of school. Chase is married to Madison and they live in Louisville where he is a PE teacher at Moore High School in JCPS and she is a 3rd grade teacher at Buckner Elementary in Oldham County. Gavin is living in Lexington and working hard to chase his dreams. Brody is a freshman at Eastern Kentucky University and is studying aviation. We also added a new puppy to the family this year. Ace is a red cockapoo and gives the best snuggles.
We enjoy attending many after school and community events. When we aren't at a sports event, we love to travel. I like to read anytime I get the chance, go out to eat (especially for chips & salsa), shop, and get ideas from Pinterest for home projects.
The students at SCES are so important to me and I hope that each day I am able to make a difference in their lives!
